COVID-19 Gameday protocols as of January 1, 2022
Northern Cincinnati Upward Sports monitors the Butler County General Health District to stay updated with concerns and illness trends in our area. As protocols change, we will continue to update this section accordingly. Please know the following:
- There are spectator restrictions at four gameday locations listed below in the frequently asked questions section.
- On game days, we ask that you wait until 5-10 minutes before game time to enter a facility to help us reduce the number of people inside the facility. Then, have your players report directly to the court.
- After the games, teams will have a designated area to gather to present game day stars. Do not distribute post-game snacks
- If there is a positive test within 48 hours after a practice or game, please email the league right away at basketball@cincyupward.org.
- When we are notified of a positive COVID-19 test, we will communicate through email with those who may have had close contact. Understandably, we cannot share the names of individuals during this communication.
- As the Northern Cincinnati Upward Sports program is not a school-based program and is a community program, we cannot follow the "Mask to Stay/Return to Play" guidelines. Instead, you will need to follow quarantine guidelines provided by the Butler County General Health District linked here and found on their website.
- If you are in quarantine or isolation due t COVID-19, you may not participate in team activities, including practices or games. Please do not attend practices or games if you are not feeling well or have symptoms associated with COVID-19. It is acceptable for you to miss.

- Will there be attendance restrictions for game days? Yes, based on the indoor capacity and number of basketball and cheer participants expected during a game, the locations listed below will have a limit of three "spectators" for your participant. - Why wasn't I informed of this information before registering for the season? During registration, we notified parents that we would wait until the second week of practice or after to update everyone for game day COVID procedures. Parents acknowledged this information as part of their participant's registration. This approach allows the most flexibility and access to the most recent data when making decisions. As protocols change, we will update accordingly. We are striving to keep our players and cheerleaders, coaches, and game day volunteers as safe as we possibly can. A safe environment is our top priority at all locations.
- What if I don't like what the league has outlined for games? Please be understanding, pray with us, and know that we are giving our best effort to conduct a league during a pandemic. We can provide a full refund if you email basketball@cincyupward.org by January 1, 2022, and you return a complete, unused uniform.
