​BASKETBALL CHEER - NOVEMBER-MARCH​

CHEER is a huge part of sporting events.  Cheerleaders take the sport experience to another level by adding excitement and spirit to any game day!  They build confidence in themselves, learn, have fun and make friends while being part of a cheer squad.
AGES: Kindergarten or 5 yr. old through 6th grade

PRACTICES Begin the week of November 26th and are one hour, one day per week for 12 weeks at your designated practice location.  Cheer practice locations.

Each week coaches will:
  • Recognize skill levels and teach at appropriate levels for each participant
  • Teach skills through specific drills and organized practices
  • Instill a sense of sportsmanship and a competitive spirit
  • Teach and demonstrate a set of virtues outlined for the season using bible lessons

Players and cheerleaders should dress in clothes for physical activity while saving their uniforms to wear on game day.

GAME DAYS Begin January 11th and take place over the course of 8 weeks, each Saturday at your practice location.  

Each week cheerleaders are introduced with music, lights and tunnels to run through as their names are announced.  They then cheer throughout the game and other designated times during the game.
EACH CHEERLEADER RECEIVES a hair bow, mega phone, poms, cheer top, long sleeve undershirt, skort, car magnet, end of season gift, 12 practices and 8 games.


Cost is $95 for early registration before October 4th, $130 for regular registration October 5th through October 26th.

COACHES may apply for the 2019-2020 season by filling out the coach / referee application and attending the mandatory coaches meeting on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 8:30 am at West Chester Nazarene Church.
